How FF helps government

FIFO Families are often called upon by local governments, to present seminars to local FIFO communities and to also assist with local government initiatives such as expos and information sessions.
FIFO Families engages with both state and federal members of government and has strong bipartisan support for the important work they do.  FIFO Families has been included in several state and federal parliamentary speeches from differing members who express concern around FIFO issues.

Chris Guthrie, Economic Development Sunshine Coast

I found the workshop presented by Nicole to be highly professional and was extremely valuable for our remote workers and their families. Nicole’s personal experiences in FIFO, along with her training in human relationships and their dynamics, made this workshop a huge success. As the workshop progressed we could see “the lights going on” with many families, as they were able to relate and connect to the experiences and related strategies that were being proposed. I think most families adopting this challenging lifestyle would benefit from attending this workshop.

Narelle Edmonds, City of Rockingham

The City of Rockingham understands how families of FIFO workers are affected by the disruptive lifestyle, and recognises the importance of providing information about relevant services available in the City. These  services range from financial, health, sport, employment, and recreation, to volunteering, social activities and childcare. At a recent FIFO and Defence Families Expo, the City was pleased to partner with FIFO Families which provided a series of informative presentations around Survival Tips For FIFO Families, and Coping Strategies For A Balanced Lifestyle.
